Elevating Your Property
Precision Pool Demolition
Removing a pool requires more than just a sledgehammer. Our team handles everything from the initial drainage and permit acquisition to the heavy-duty demolition of concrete, gunite, or vinyl liners. We ensure all debris is hauled away responsibly, leaving you with a clean slate.Engineered Backfilling & Compaction
The most critical step in pool removal is what goes back into the ground. We don’t just fill the hole with dirt; we use structural-grade fill material and professional-grade compactors to prevent future settling or sinkholes. This ensures your new lawn or patio stays level for years to come.

Pool Removal FAQ's
Do I need a permit for pool removal?
Yes, nearly all municipalities require a demolition permit. This ensures that utility disconnects (gas, water, and electric) are handled safely and that the final grading doesn’t negatively impact your neighbors’ drainage. Strobo Contracting typically manages the entire permit and inspection process for you.
What is the difference between a partial and a full removal?
- Partial Removal (Infill): We break the bottom of the pool for drainage, collapse the top few feet of the walls into the center, and fill the rest with dirt. This is cost-effective but may limit where you can build in the future.
- Full Removal: Every piece of concrete, steel, and vinyl is hauled away. This returns the lot to “virgin” soil conditions, which is ideal if you plan to build an addition or another structure over the site.
How do you prevent the ground from sinking later?
We use a professional engineered backfill process. Instead of just dumping dirt, we fill the cavity in “lifts” (layers of 6–12 inches) and use heavy machinery to compact each layer to 90–95% density. This prevents the “spongy” ground or sinkholes often seen with DIY or low-quality removals.
